New Delhi, Feb. 19 -- Reliance Industries and its telecom arm Jio on Thursday announced a Rs.10 trillion investment over the next seven years to build an AI ecosystem in the country.
"India cannot afford to rent intelligence. Therefore, we will reduce the cost of intelligence as dramatically as we did the cost of data," said Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries, in his keynote at the India AI Impact Summit in New Delhi.
Ambani detailed Jio Intelligence's plan to build sovereign compute infrastructure through three initiatives. First, gigawatt-scale data centres, with multi-gigawatt, AI-ready facilities under construction in Jamnagar.
