New Delhi, April 16 -- Asha Bhosle's journey was never linear. Born in Sangli in 1933, she rose from a musically gifted but financially strained childhood to become one of the most versatile voices in Indian music. Honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award and the Padma Vibhushan, she remained a symbol of reinvention until her death in Mumbai on 12 April 2026.
