New Delhi, May 2 -- James Freeman Clarke, born on April 4, 1810, was an American Unitarian minister, theologian, author, and social reformer. Born in Hanover, New Hampshire, he was raised partly by his grandfather, a prominent Unitarian clergyman. Clarke graduated from Harvard College in 1829 and from Harvard Divinity School in 1833.
