Private sector growth recovers in August from July's low as service sector strengthen: HSBC Flash India PMI
New Delhi, Aug. 21 -- Growth across India's private sector economy bounced back moderately in August after expanding at its slowest pace in more than four years in July, a survey showed. There were indications of a quicker upturn for service providers than manufacturers, although growth picked up pace in both cases.
The HSBC Flash India Composite PMI Output Index, compiled by S&P Global, is expected to rise to 54.6 in August from July's 52-month low of 54.3, signalling an uptick in overall private sector growth. The reading, though, was the second-weakest expansion since March 2022 as the improvement in the service sector more than offset the slowest rise in manufacturing output in five years.
