New Delhi, June 19 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to release the 23rd instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme on Saturday, 20 June, during a visit to Hooghly district's Tarakeswar area in West Bengal.

"Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will give a historic gift of development schemes for farmers, livestock rearers, and youth in West Bengal," Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said.

Under the flagship income-support programme, eligible farmers receive Rs.2,000 every four months, amounting to Rs.6,000 annually in three equal instalments.
