Piyush Goyal lands in Japan as India eyes Rs.60,000 crore investment boost in 10 years: What's on the agenda?
New Delhi, Aug. 24 -- Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal has landed in Japan to lead a nearly 200-member business delegation to strengthen India-Japan trade and investment ties, according to a statement from the Embassy of India in Japan.
In a social media post, the embassy said the Minister arrived in Japan at Haneda Airport for his four-day visit. Ambassador Nagma Mallick welcomed Goyal at Haneda Airport this morning, the Embassy said.
"The Commerce Minister is visiting Japan from August 24 to 27, leading a business delegation of approximately 200 members," the post reads.
The visit assumes significance as Japan last year set an investment target of 10 trillion yen (about Rs.60,000 cr) in India over a decade.
