New Delhi, April 1 -- Cloud computing firm Oracle on Tuesday began laying off its employees in a fresh round of job cuts, affecting thousands, via email and reportedly with no prior communication.

On Tuesday morning, like several other employees affected by the job cuts, a man who served the company for 20 years and is battling cancer also woke up to the termination email.

He now has no health insurance, and with just two years to retirement, his chances of landing another job are also very slim.

In a viral Reddit post, a user shared that his father was laid off via email after 20 years with Oracle, without the courtesy of a call.
