New Delhi, Sept. 16 -- The National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) is preparing for a market debut that could define the scale of India's primary market. A decade after its first listing attempt in 2016, the exchange filed its Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) with the Securities and Exchange Board of India on 17 June 2026.

For investors tracking when the NSE initial public offering (IPO) is expected, it is more about gaining exposure to one of India's influential financial infrastructures.

The proposed IPO is an offer for sale (OFS) of up to 14.89 crore equity shares with a face value of Rs.1 each. There is no fresh issue component, so the NSE will not receive IPO proceeds. Existing shareholders will sell their shares instead.
