Nancy Guthrie case: Pima County Sheriff's dept finds human remains in desert area; officials yet to establish link
New Delhi, Aug. 18 -- Pima County Sheriff's Department, which is investigating the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of journalist Savannah Guthrie who has been missing since 1 February, said on Monday (local time) that it found human remains in a desert close to Guthrie's home.
CNN reported that the remains were discovered in a desert area near West Ajo Way and South La Cholla Boulevard in Arizona, around 15 miles from Nancy Guthrie's home. However, authorities said there is currently no evidence linking the remains to the investigation into Guthrie's case. They added that the remains appear to have been at the site for a considerable period.
