Nadda reviews H1N1 readiness as Delhi cases rise
New Delhi, Aug. 21 -- Union health minister JP Nadda on Friday reviewed the country's preparedness for H1N1 influenza, with a particular focus on Delhi, where cases have risen sharply this year.
According to surveillance data from the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Delhi has recorded 1,449 H1N1 infections by mid-August, compared with 229 during the corresponding period last year.
Data from the NCDC and the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) also show significant seasonal influenza activity in Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra and Gujarat.
