New Delhi, Aug. 28 -- Mumbai households that buy fresh tabela milk will have to pay Rs.9 more for every litre from 1 September, with producers raising the price from Rs.93 to Rs.102 amid sharply higher costs of cattle, feed, and fodder.

The revised rate will remain in effect until 28 February 2027. The increase comes just ahead of the festive season, when demand for milk and milk-based products typically rises.

At Rs.9 a litre, the hike is significant in itself. It represents an increase of nearly 10% over the current price, taking Mumbai's fresh tabela milk into a distinctly higher price bracket than regular packaged milk sold by several large dairy brands.
