New Delhi, Sept. 26 -- The gaming industry's turbulent phase continues to impact long-standing employees. In a stark example of corporate unpredictability, Josh Daniels, a cinematic director at Halo Studios, lost his job just days after receiving a promotion.

Daniels was among the 268 employees affected by the latest round of layoffs at Microsoft's Xbox division.

Taking to LinkedIn, he shared the abrupt turn of events:

"Promoted and laid off in the same week is pretty wild," Daniels wrote, expressing his disbelief over the timing of his termination. "I'm one of the many hit by the Halo Studios layoffs.
