Microsoft-owned Xbox cuts 268 more jobs; over 1,800 layoffs so far as overhaul continues
New Delhi, Sept. 23 -- Microsoft's Xbox division is eliminating 268 jobs across its gaming business as part of a broader restructuring that began earlier this year, Chief Operating Officer Matt Booty said in a memo to employees.
The latest cuts affect staff at Halo Studios, other first-party studios, and Xbox Game Studios' management and central functions, according to the memo published on the Xbox website.
The layoffs come two months after Microsoft announced 1,600 job cuts across Xbox in July. The latest reduction is part of the 3,200 roles Microsoft has said would be affected during its 2027 financial year, which ends in June 2027.
