New Delhi, Aug. 23 -- Michael Wright, whose career spanned film and television and included memorable roles in The Five Heartbeats, V, Streamers and The Principal, has died at the age of 70.

His wife, Susan Wright, announced his death in a statement shared on Instagram on Friday evening. "It is with profound sadness and an unimaginable heaviness in my heart that I share the passing of my beloved husband, Michael Wright," her statement read.

The cause of death was not disclosed in the family's announcement. His death was reported by multiple US entertainment outlets, with the family also asking for privacy as they mourn.
