New Delhi, Oct. 11 -- Being the son of a celebrated actor can bring attention long before someone establishes an identity of their own. Malhar Patekar, son of veteran actor Nana Patekar, has largely chosen a different route.

Malhar is the son of Nana Patekar and Marathi actress Neelakanti Patekar. His parents married in 1978 after meeting through theatre. The couple had two sons, Durvasa and Malhar.

Their elder son, Durvasa, died at a young age following an illness, leaving Malhar as their only surviving child.

Rather than building a public image around his family name, he has pursued work in cinema while maintaining a relatively private life.
