New Delhi, March 4 -- Iran has rejected Israeli media reports claiming that Mojtaba Khamenei has been appointed as the country's new Supreme Leader. Officials said no formal decision has been announced and dismissed the reports as unverified. They added that any decision regarding succession would be made through the established constitutional process.
In a post on X through the Consulate General in Mumbai's X handle, it said, "Reports circulating on media regarding potential candidates for leadership selected by Iran's Assembly of Experts have no official source and are officially denied."
