New Delhi, April 13 -- Iran's paramilitary Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has warned that any foreign military vessels approaching the Strait of Hormuz would be treated as a "violation of the ceasefire and met with severe force".

"Any military vessels approaching the Strait. will be considered a violation of the ceasefire and will be met with severe force," the IRGC said, according to Iran's semi-official Fars news agency.

The Guards also asserted operational dominance over the waterway, stating: "All traffic. is under the full control of the armed forces."

Iran's naval command insisted the critical oil route remains open for non-military vessels under its supervision.
