New Delhi, March 16 -- Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) might have received a massive boost ahead of IPL 2026 as far as the news of Matheesha Pathirana is concerned. Pathirana had missed most of the T20 World Cup 2026 due to a calf strain in his left leg.

He sustained the injury on his left leg while bowling his first over against Australia in the group stage match of the T20 World Cup in February. He left the field immediately and was ruled out of the rest of the T20 World Cup.
