India hold nerve in 0-0 draw vs England to book FIH Women's Hockey World Cup second round spot
New Delhi, Aug. 20 -- India produced a masterclass in defensive grit to grind out a vital 0-0 draw against England and secure a place in the second round of the FIH Women's Hockey World Cup in Amstelveen on Thursday (August 20).
Needing just a single point to progress alongside China, Sjoerd Marijne's side delivered exactly that under mounting late pressure. The result left India second in Pool D with five points. England finished third on four points and were knocked out of the tournament.
