New Delhi, Oct. 8 -- India is targeting $1 trillion in exports this fiscal year even as global trade is expected to grow just 2.5-3%, commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal said on Thursday, setting an ambitious benchmark for the country's push to expand its global footprint despite a fragile world economy.

India exported $863 billion in fiscal year 2026 (FY26) and will need nearly 16% growth to reach the target, Goyal said at the curtain raiser of the 31st CII Partnership Summit in New Delhi. The summit will be held in Visakhapatnam on 12-13 November.
