New Delhi, Aug. 23 -- Yashasvi Jaiswal's dismissal on the opening day of the second Test between India and Sri Lanka was followed by a heated on-field confrontation with Sri Lankan pacer Asitha Fernando at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo on Sunday.

The incident occurred during the 17th over of India's first innings, moments after Fernando ended Jaiswal's promising stay at the crease.

The Indian opener had scored 45 from 53 deliveries, hitting nine boundaries, and appeared to be scoring a half-century before Asitha Fernando found a way to dismiss the opener.

Fernando bowled from round the wicket and delivered a length ball that came back into Yashasvi Jaiswal. The left-hander attempted to play through the off side but got an inside...
