Delhi, April 17 -- Parts of Delhi, National Capital Region (NCR) experienced an unusual spell of rain on Friday evening. IMD said the light to moderate showers brought down temperatures by 7-10 degrees in several parts of Delhi, offering a respite from the heat.

The India Meteorological Department upgraded yellow alert issued earlier in the day to orange - forecasting moderate rainfall, thunderstorms and lightning, along with winds of up to 40-60 kmph, during the night.

Visuals from the national capital's Vikas Marg showed motorists and commuters travelling as the showers continued.
