New Delhi, May 14 -- Housing & Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO), primarily engaged in the business of financing housing and urban development activities, reported a mixed financial performance for the March-ending quarter.

The company reported a sharp jump in its consolidated net profit of Rs.1,981 crore, a 172% jump from Rs.723 crore in the year-ago quarter, mainly due to a large deferred tax credit of Rs.1,530.32 crore, which sharply reduced the overall tax outgo.
