New Delhi, June 25 -- US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who is currently in the Middle East for his first tour since the US and Iran signed a 14-point Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), on Thursday warned that Iran's decision to impose tolls on ships crossing the Strait of Hormuz would also spread to other waterways and would risk "chaos."

Rubio made these remarks at a Gulf Cooperation Council meeting in Bahrain and added, "International waterways do not belong to any nation-state. This is a foundational principle in the world today, without which the world would be in chaos."
