New Delhi, Sept. 27 -- Several parts of the country are likely to witness rainfall over the coming week, with isolated heavy to very heavy showers forecast in parts of northwest India, while rainfall activity is expected to increase in the Northeast and southern peninsula, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

In northwest India, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is likely over Uttarakhand on 28 September. Isolated very heavy rainfall is expected over West Uttar Pradesh, while East Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh may also receive isolated heavy rain. Heavy rainfall is also forecast over Uttarakhand on 28 September.
