FIFA World Cup 2026: France coach Didier Deschamps hits out at referee after semi-final loss: 'There were several.'
New Delhi, July 15 -- France head coach Didier Deschamps was far from pleased with some of the refereeing decisions during his team's loss to Spain in the FIFA World Cup semi-final in Dallas on Tuesday.
France suffered a 2-0 loss to Spain to qualify for Sunday's final in New Jersey, where they will face either England or Argentina.
Although Deschamps didn't name the referee, Ivan Barton, he questioned whether the referee was qualified enough to officiate in a big match like the FIFA World Cup semi-final.
