FIFA president Gianni Infantino accused of 'blackmailing' Jordan Football Association over endorsement
New Delhi, Aug. 4 -- After Gianni Infantino received no support from across the globe in a proposal to sell off a stake in the World Cup, the FIFA president faced a fresh embarrassment on Tuesday after the Jordan Football Association (JFA) chief Ali bin Hussein launched a public attack accusing him of "blackmail".
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Bin Hussein claimed that Infantino offered to help solve the JFA's problems in exchange for his endorsement. He alleged that FIFA verbally communicated during the World Cup that endorsing Infantino "would go a long way to helping our FA out".
