New Delhi, July 27 -- Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy is dealing with a family crisis after his wife was shot by their son at the family's home in Virginia. Mia Bieniemy, 57, remains hospitalized in stable condition after the Sunday night incident.

Police in Loudoun County, Virginia, confirmed a woman was treated for serious injuries from multiple gunshot wounds. Notably, Mia Bieniemy was shot in the chest and arm. She is listed in stable condition as of Monday.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting at a home on the 20000 block of Northpark Drive in Ashburn at 7:32 PM ET Sunday. The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office said its investigation remains ongoing.
