New Delhi, March 21 -- Eid-ul-Fitr, also known as Meethi Eid, will be celebrated across India on March 21. The festival, which marks the end of Ramadan, is celebrated across the globe depending on the sighting of the crescent. Saudi Arabia and the UAE observed Eid on March 20, while Indonesia and Bangladesh will observe it on March 21.

Devotees begin their day by offering morning prayers (Salat al-Eid). On this day, they offer Zakat al-Fitr to the needy, wear new clothes, feast with family, share sweets, visit loved ones, and exchange gifts, Eidi (token money) and greetings.
