DOJ backs Trump's name addition to Kennedy Center, warns it is likely to be demolished otherwise
New Delhi, Aug. 26 -- The Department of Justice (DOJ) on Tuesday (local time) suggested in a court filing that if US President Donald Trump's name does not appear somewhere on the Kennedy Center, the "decrepit, dilapidated" cultural centre might face demolition, as funding from donors for renovations would shrivel up.
Brantley Mayers, a top official in the DOJ's Civil Division, argued in a filing that reads like one of Trump's Truth Social posts that the "decrepit" Kennedy Center faces an imminent "death spiral" without Trump's intervention, ABC News reported.
