CWG 2026: India's gold rush in boxing continues after Sakshi Chaudhary, Priya Ghanghas add up to increasing tally
New Delhi, Aug. 1 -- India's gold rush in Glasgow at the Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2026 continued as Sakshi Chaudhary and Priya Ghanghas won their respective final bouts on Saturday. This was India's fourth gold medal in five finals so far at CWG 2026, with five more summit clashes to go on the day.
Coming after a gold medal at the World Boxing Cup 2025 in Astana, Sakshi scored a unanimous 5-0 win over Ruby White of England to win the top prize in the women's 51kg final. However, it was tough for Priya Ghanghas in the women's 69kg summit clash against Marie-Bathoul Al-Ahmadieh of Canada.
