New Delhi, Sept. 17 -- Cryptocurrencies showcased rangebound movement on Thursday after the US Federal Reserve announced rate hike for the first time in three years. The US Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) announced a 25 basis points (bps) rate hike.

The US Federal Reserve increased its benchmark interest rate by 25 basis points on Wednesday. With this, the federal funds rate has surged in the range of 3.75%-4%. The US Fed projections also signals towards a possibility of another rate hike later in 2026.

Over the last twenty four hours, top cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, BNB, Solana, Hyperliquid and Monero have gained close to 0.70%, 1.15%, 1.77%, 2.60%, 2.58%, and 1.57% respectively.
