CNR Rao name mismatch hearing: Did Bharat Ratna scientist receive SIR notice over extra 'F'? GBA chief clarifies
New Delhi, Sept. 9 -- Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) Chief Commissioner M Maheshwar Rao on Wednesday clarified that no notice has been served on Bharat Ratna awardee Prof CNR Rao as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll, contrary to reports.
In a statement, the GBA said there was a discrepancy in Rao's name in the electoral records. However, rather than issuing him a notice, the Booth Level Officer recommended that his name be included in the electoral roll.
According to a Hindustan Times report, his name appeared as "Prof. C.N.R. Rao" in the previous electoral roll, while the current roll lists it as "Proff. C.N.R. Rao," with an additional "f" in the title. The alleged notice asked him to appear ...
