New Delhi, July 13 -- The Centre has begun ranking all 88 Union ministries and departments on how effectively they are upskilling their workforce under Mission Karmayogi, creating the government's first consolidated scorecard of civil service capacity building as it pushes artificial intelligence (AI)-driven workforce planning across the bureaucracy.

The rankings, reviewed by Mint, underscore a wide divergence in ministries' preparedness under the government's flagship civil service reform programme.
