BCCI suspends India U-19 leg-spinner Rohit Yadav for two years over age record discrepancies
New Delhi, Sept. 3 -- Bengal leg-spinner Rohit Yadav has been banned for two years by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) following discrepancies in his age-related records, bringing a sudden halt to the young cricketer's rise into the India Under-19 setup.
According to Sportstar, the BCCI has suspended him with 'immediate effect' and informed its affiliated state associations about the decision.
The development comes just months after Rohit broke into the India U-19 team and earned selection for the squad's upcoming series against Australia.
The discrepancies reportedly emerged during an age-verification exercise initiated by the BCCI and carried out by the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB).
