New Delhi, Sept. 22 -- Dozens of people in the US have filed personal injury lawsuits against the manufacturers of widely used GLP-1 drugs, including Ozempic, Wegovy and Mounjaro, alleging that they were not adequately warned about the risk of a rare form of sudden vision loss.

The condition, known as nonarteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION), affects the optic nerve and can cause sudden, painless loss of vision. Researchers have been examining a possible connection between GLP-1 medicines and NAION, but so far no study has established that the drugs cause the condition, ABC reported.
