New Delhi, April 1 -- The wait is over for Apple CarPlay users as ChatGPT has become the first major AI app to make its way to the platform. The popular AI chatbot can now be downloaded on CarPlay to allow users to interact with the AI chatbot directly from the vehicle's dashboard using hands-free commands.

The news of the ChatGPT app coming to CarPlay comes shortly after Apple released the iOS 26.4 update last week that opened the gates to third-party "voice-based conversational apps" after getting a special entitlement from Apple.

As per a MacRumors report, AI apps have to be limited to voice interactions on CarPlay and cannot show text or images in response to questions from users.
