New Delhi, May 1 -- Zomato and Blinkit, part of the Eternal group, have announced a series of measures to support their delivery partners during the ongoing heatwave in India. The company shared details of the initiative in a press release on Thursday. The move aims to strengthen existing efforts and introduce new safeguards to ensure the health and safety of gig workers operating in extreme temperatures.

Delivery partners are now covered under an enhanced health insurance programme. This includes OPD coverage with reimbursement of up to Rs.5,000, along with IPD (hospitalisation) and day-care coverage of up to Rs.1 lakh.
