New Delhi, Jan. 15 -- An Air India aircraft, which was operating between New Delhi and New York, suffered substantial damage to one of its engines this morning after it sucked in a baggage container at Delhi Airport.
The incident occurred when the Airbus A350 was taxiing in dense fog at the airport, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said in a X post, confirming the incident.
The incident occurred after Flight AI101 returned to Delhi due to the closure of Iranian airspace, which affected its planned route. The engine was damaged upon landing at Delhi Airport.
The investigation is being carried out by DGCA.
