New Delhi, Aug. 5 -- Air India Ltd. announced Tewolde Gebremariam will succeed Campbell Wilson as the chief executive officer amid the Tata Group-owned carrier's struggles to recover from last year's deadly plane crash and mounting losses linked to geopolitical tensions.

Gebremariam succeeds Campbell Wilson, who announced his resignation after leading the airline through a period marked by fleet expansion, integration efforts and multiple external shocks.
