AI job apocalypse 'unlikely,' could create new opportunities over time: Goldman Sachs report
New Delhi, June 26 -- As tech giants continue to invest heavily in artificial intelligence (AI) amid concerns over widespread job losses, a new Goldman Sachs report argues that fears of an imminent "AI job apocalypse" are exaggerated. The report adds that while AI is expected to significantly reshape labour markets, it is unlikely to trigger the kind of collapse many predict over the coming decade.
Quoting the report titled An AI Job Apocalypse, news agency ANI reported that experts agree that AI could displace workers but may also generate new employment opportunities over time.
According to Joseph Briggs, a Senior Global Economist at Goldman Sachs in the US, over 9% of the labour force or roughly 15 million workers, could be displaced...
