The 8th Pay Commission is a temporary body constituted by the government of India on 3 November 2025. It has a tenure of about 18 months from its date of constitution, with nearly eight months having elapsed.
With just about 10 months left before the Commission submits its recommendations to the Centre, the focus is on stakeholder consultations and the review of the pay structure, allowances and other service-related benefits for central government employees and pensioners.
