8th Pay Commission Arrears: Check how much Level 4-7 employees may receive; fitment factor-wise calculation
New Delhi, Aug. 31 -- Central government employees may receive arrears after the 8th Pay Commission becomes effective. Pay commissions require consultations, approvals and administrative preparation. These processes can delay revised salaries for several months. Employees usually receive eligible arrears covering the delayed implementation period.
The Economic Times estimated payments for Levels 4 through 7 using a 20-month delay. The calculations cover basic pay increases only. They use four possible fitment factors: 2.0, 2.15, 2.28 and 2.57.
