New Delhi, Nov. 1 -- The 8th Pay Commission was constituted by the central government on 3 November 2025. This is a temporary 3-member panel headed by Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai. The commission was given 18 months, as per the Terms of Reference (ToR) of the commission, to have a discussion with eligible central government unions, pensioners and associations on aspects such as fitment factor, salary revisions, pension reforms, employee grievances, along with a host of other factors and submit its final report to the central government.
