New Delhi, Feb. 25 -- A viral locker-room call from US President Donald Trump to the US Men's hockey team for their historic gold at the 2-26 Winter Olympics turned into a familiar cultural firestorm as he joked that an invitation for the women's team, who also won gold, to his State of the Union speech was less of a choice and more of a legal necessity.

In a video shared online soon after the win, Trump can be heard on speaker phone in a call with the men's team, inviting them to the address before saying: "We're gonna have to bring the women's team, you do know that?" to which the players laugh.

"I do believe I would probably be impeached" if he didn't invite them, the president added.
