New Delhi, Aug. 23 -- Actor Rajesh Kumar made a major career shift in 2017 when he left the entertainment industry and returned to his hometown of Gaya, Bihar, to pursue farming. The decision came as his interest in spirituality and his association with Sadhguru grew stronger.

However, his move into agriculture brought several challenges. Over the following five years, Kumar accumulated debt of nearly Rs.2 crore while struggling without a steady income. At one point, he was even forced to sell vegetables outside his son's school.

Despite the financial difficulties and repeated setbacks, Kumar said he never allowed the situation to push him into bitterness or depression. He also does not view his farming journey simply as a "failure".
