India, July 24 -- The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) is planning to develop an integrated township across nearly 8,000 hectares between the upcoming Noida International Airport and the Tappal-Bajna Urban Node. Originally conceived as an industrial hub, the project has been redesigned as a mixed-use city comprising industrial, residential, commercial and institutional zones. The proposed township will include housing sectors, schools, colleges, universities, hospitals, hotels, shopping malls and other civic amenities, creating a self-sustained urban ecosystem. To take the project forward, YEIDA has invited bids from expert agencies to prepare a techno-economic feasibility report and the master plan. Interested firms can submit bids by August 5, while technical bids will be opened on August 7. The selected agency will have six months to complete the feasibility study, followed by four months to prepare the final master plan. Development work is expected to begin after the plan receives the necessary approvals. In a separate decision, the Noida Authority has approved the induction of joint developers (JDs), where required, for stalled residential projects on the SC-2 plot of Sector 150 Sports City. The move is intended to help financially stressed developers revive delayed projects by bringing in fresh investment from other real estate firms.
