India, Aug. 19 -- The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) board on Monday approved the development of an interstate bus terminal in Sector 23-C, near Noida International Airport, to strengthen public transport and last-mile connectivity in the airport region. YEIDA CEO RK Singh said the terminal would improve connectivity between the airport and neighbouring areas. "The board has approved the interstate bus terminal, which will facilitate connectivity from the airport to neighbouring areas. We are also working to expand the public transport network in the region," he said. The board also approved a proposal to increase the number of city buses from the existing 100 to 500 in the coming days. The move is expected to improve connectivity between residential, industrial and commercial areas and the airport. Also Read - EC revises Delhi's SIR schedule; final voter list to be published on Nov 4 Advertisement Several major institutional and industrial projects were also approved, including a 500-acre Medical Hub in Sectors 13 and 14, a 480-acre university township in Sector 34 and a 300-acre Taiwan City in Sector 6. The Taiwan City is aimed at attracting Taiwan-based industries, particularly in electronics and technology manufacturing. The board also approved a pharmaceutical formulation manufacturing cluster spread across around 100-125 acres in Sector 6. A 36-acre mandi in Sector 34 and a modern international stadium spread across approximately 50 acres in Sector 23-D were also approved. The authority further approved revised land purchase rates through mutual consent with farmers. Under the proposal, the existing rate of Rs 4,300 per square metre will be increased by 6 per cent to Rs 4,558 per square metre. Alternatively, land can be purchased at Rs 4,037 per square metre along with a 7 per cent abadi plot. Also Read - At least 3 killed, 3 injured as CNG cylinder explodes at fuel pump in Delhi Meanwhile, Noida, Greater Noida and YEIDA, along with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), have approved extending the proposed Yamuna Pushta elevated road from 31 km to around 50 km, bringing it closer to Noida International Airport. The project, estimated to cost around Rs 4,000 crore, will be developed by NHAI, which is preparing its Detailed Project Report (DPR). Once completed, the elevated corridor is expected to provide an alternative route to both the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and the Yamuna Expressway. YEIDA's receipts also rose sharply, reaching Rs 1,853.74 crore up to July 31, 2026, compared with Rs 974.37 crore during the corresponding period of 2025-26, marking a 90.25 per cent increase.
