New Delhi, Sept. 29 -- Swaminathan Gurumurthy, Chairman, Vivekananda International Foundation (VIF), said India's civilisational wisdom could complement modern science, technology and institutions in its journey towards Viksit Bharat, at Mantranā, Bharat Ki Soch's flagship discussion series.
Delivering the keynote on "Ancient Indian Wisdom as a Guide for Viksit Bharat", Gurumurthy said, "Technology can develop a nation. Military can protect a nation. GDP can promote a nation. But all these added together do not constitute a nation." He added, "The world is shifting from an anti-civilisational world order towards a civilisational world order, and there is a rising civilisational awareness in India."
Anil Rajput, Chairman, Bharat Ki Soch, said India's progress by 2047 should encompass economic strength, education, healthcare, opportunities and sustainable development. "We must also ask what choices will take us there, and what kind of nation we will have built when we arrive," he said.
R K Pachnanda said the discussion reinforced ancient wisdom as a "living inheritance". "Let us carry forward the wisdom of our civilisation," he said.
