India, July 1 -- A 35-year-old worker died after he allegedly fell from the second floor of a building while he was carrying out repair work at a house in southwest Delhi's Dwarka, police said on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Gurdev, a resident of Purnea district in Bihar. According to police, information regarding the admission of an injured person at Indira Gandhi Hospital in Dwarka was received on Monday, following which a police team reached the hospital and collected his medico-legal case (MLC). Police said Gurdev was brought to the hospital unconscious and unresponsive after he fell from a height of around 15 to 20 feet near Rosewood Apartments in Sector 13, Dwarka. During inquiry, it was found that Gurdev was engaged in repair and maintenance work at the four-storey residential complex. He was working on the second floor when he lost balance, slipped and fell, they said. He was later referred to Safdarjung Hospital for specialised treatment, but died during treatment. His body has been preserved in the hospital mortuary for post-mortem, they added. Police said the spot where Gurdev fell was inspected and photographed by the crime team.
